Sewing the seeds

Sooo the world has gone a little crazy!! It was TP’s last day of school today and possibly his last ever day in year 1.

I have to confess that at the beginning of the week I just had a feeling of calm wash over me. I feel like the world has been holding its breath for so long and now it can just start to exhale. Having the gift of time is huge and we plan to spend as much as possible creating our garden, walking and slowing down.

In this spirit we sewed cauliflower, broccoli, pepper and pea seeds last Saturday. To my amazement and the kids excitement the cauliflower and broccoli are already coming up! So we rushed out in to the freezing evening to water them and put them back in to our grow house (BP of course saying ‘good nat sleep wew’)

These events lasted maybe 5 minutes but they captured all of the amazement of this time of year. The hope, the work and the consideration needed to create a garden is good for the soul and just what we need right now.
